NewsletterNewsletter 28th June 2023

~ June 2023 ~

You will receive your child’s report today (Friday). I have really enjoyed reading them and hope you do too. Our children have made excellent progress and I am incredibly proud of them all. If you have any questions or comments about your child’s report then please do speak to your class teacher.

It is that time of the year when we invite our parent/carers to take part in a short survey. This survey is carried out by an external company which looks at our feedback and also measures our results against other schools in our Nova family as well as national responses. It is a really good way for us to hear your opinions and we will use the results to identify our priorities for next year. We are proud of the really positive relationships we have with our families and we are always striving to make the Robert Miles Infants experience even better so do let us know what you think. The survey closes 21st July and this year there is an opportunity to be entered into a prize draw for taking part. We have three £10 book vouchers up for grabs, all you need to do is enter your email at the end of the survey. Your answers are still anonymous.

Survey for Parents and Carers

Children spent two days last week visiting their new class for next year. The teachers had planned some lovely activities and they all had a great time. The Year 2s have been taught by their new teachers at the Juniors. The teachers have all met to share information about the children to ensure they have a smooth transition for September.

On Tuesday we had a fantastic Sports Day. The rain held off (just about) and the children explored a range of sporting activities in their team. Thanks to Mrs Jaques and Mr Bourne who ensured it all ran like clockwork and our parent helpers, some of whom were more competitive than others! It was lovely to have the Year 6 children from Robert Miles Juniors help out – they were fantastic role models and a credit to the Junior school. Final results will be announced soon!

We have a lot of uniform that has accumulated in school. Our Lost Property box is overflowing. Anything not claimed will be donated or sent to charities as we just do not have the space to store it.

Thanks to those that came. Parents raised some interesting points and the school council will take back the responses to consider. As promised a survey link will be coming out to you but I didn’t want to send too many surveys in one newsletter! So, if you weren’t able to come along we would still love to hear your thoughts.

We have our picnic on Friday 7th July, 3.30pm - 5.30pm. Each class will have a stall and we will be raising money for our allotment and outside space.

We have tattoos, nail painting, cake stall, lucky dip, hook a duck and more!

Please bring along a picnic blanket and your own food and drink and enjoy spending some time together in our lovely school grounds.

Some people are having trouble with holiday bookings for Robert Miles Club. We do still have some spaces so please speak to the office if you are having difficulty booking.

Remember this Monday 3rd July is our first Robert Miles Gardening Club. If you are at all slightly green fingered (or not!), we would love for you to join us. If you have any tools please bring them along. We will start at 9.00 and finish with a cuppa and a biscuit at 10.00am. Thank you.
