NewsletterSummer Term - 17th May 2024

~ May 2024 ~

We were delighted to be featured in three local news publications, telling the story of the fantastic fundraising effort during our sponsored read. You can find the article using the following links:

If you would like your child to attend either or both of our half term holiday clubs, run by Mrs Axten and Miss Wallis, please contact the school office.

The days are Tuesday 28th May and Wednesday 29th May.

Full day (7.30am - 6pm) = £25
Morning only (7.30am - 12.30pm) = £14
Afternoon only (12.30pm - 6pm) = £14

The times given are the earliest / latest for drop off and collection times. However, you can drop off or collect at any time within the session / day you are booked on for.

Children registered as pupil premium have 10 free Robert Miles Club sessions. If your child is registered as pupil premium and you still have some of the free sessions left, a full day would be equivalent to 2 free sessions and a morning or afternoon would be equivalent to 1 free session.

Please speak to a member of staff if you have any questions.

Our summer Family Dining will take place after half-term.

Year 1 will be on Tuesday 25th June.

Reception and Year 2 will be on Tuesday 2nd July.

If you have children in different year groups, and are only able to make one day, please let us know when you book your place and we will ensure you are able to sit with both children at the same time.

For the cost of an adult meal, Aspens, our catering company, charge £3.

It will be sausage and mash on the menu (both meat and vegetarian option available).

The menu will be the same for both days, which may mean a change to the menu advertised on the website.

Please see the office to book your place and pay the £3 for the cost of the adult meal. Places are limited to 1 adult per child.

The final date for booking a place will be Friday 14th June.

Thank you

You may have heard the children talking about our 'School Promises'. Over the year, the staff and children have been developing some whole school areas, which we believe are a really important part of education. Whilst our curriculum includes all areas of learning, we try to ensure our school promises are threaded throughout all year groups and incorporated into all subjects, where possible.

If you would like to find out more about our curriculum, please use this link to visit the website: https://www.rmischool.co.uk/page.php?d=curriculum&p=intro.

Year 1 had an amazing time a the Space Centre. Here is a reminder of the remaining trips for Reception and Year 2:

  • Wednesday 22nd May - Reception trip to White Post Farm.
  • Friday 12th July - Year 2 Camp (1 night residential at Perlethorpe).

Please return all relevant forms, along with payment to cover the cost of the trip and transportation. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please speak to a member of staff, in confidence.

After a high number of cases of a sickness bug earlier in the week, we have increased our cleaning procedures and children have been encouraged to wash their hands regularly throughout the day. Although we have had a few cases reported today, the number of cases has significantly decreased since the beginning of the week.

We reported this to the UK Health Security Agency on Monday. Guidelines were sent through to us, which are in line with the actions we have already taken.

We wish all our children, and their family members who have also been affected, a speedy recovery.

Thank you

Mrs Ryan
