After 20 years, as both a volunteer and then a member of staff at Robert Miles Infants, Mrs Tilley will sadly be leaving our school at Easter. She has been an invaluable part of our school and shown true dedication to the children she works with. Mrs Tilley will soon be welcoming her first grandchild and is looking forward to supporting her family in this exciting time. I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to Mrs Tilley for the commitment and support she has shown as a teaching assistant, HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) and as one of our ELSAs (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants).
Mrs Tilley spends some of her week teaching in Elm class, whilst Miss Holt has time to work on her SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) role. From the summer term, Mrs Marshall (who worked as part of our team until this academic year and is one of our school governors) will be teaching in Elm class one day a week so that Miss Holt is still able to have dedicated time to develop our SEND provision. As Mrs Marshall knows the school and the children well, this will ensure consistency in the quality of provision.
It would seem Mrs Marshall can't stay away!
Robert Miles Club will be having their annual Easter party on Wednesday 2nd April.
Mrs Axten and the team have planned a range of Easter themed activities and this is always hugely popular. The party runs from 3.15-6.00pm and numbers are limited. Normal charges apply - £9.75 for the session.
Please book through the Schoolsbuddy app. Please speak to the office if you need some help with this.
On Friday 21st March, it is Comic Relief Red Nose Day. On that day, it will be non-school uniform and children are invited to wear PJs / Onesies to school. Some children (and many staff!) may not feel comfortable with wearing PJs to school and so they are more than welcome to wear their own clothes - with the theme of 'something red' instead.

Following on from the success of our last community litter pick session last year, we will be holding another litter picking event after school on Thursday 20th March from 3:20pm until 4:15pm for anyone that would like to join us as a family.
We will meet outside the front of the school at 3:20pm. Please ensure children attend with an adult (who will be responsible for their child the whole time). We have some litter pickers, bags, jackets and gloves that have kindly been donated by the council to support us with this event, but please feel free to bring your own equipment too.
We would love for as many families to join us as possible to make a small but valuable impact on our local community.
Thank you to Mrs Attwood, who is organising the litter pick event. She will be sharing a letter with more information via Tapestry.
If anyone has any large pebbles (big enough for painting), we would love to collect them to use as part of a project to help develop some of our outdoor spaces.
In preparation for our summer fair, we would also like to start collecting clean jars (e.g. empty jam jars / pasta sauce jars).
If you are able to help with either of these, please send them in with the children or directly to the office.
Thank you
Parents’ Evening will take place on Tuesday 25th March and Thursday 27th March, depending on which class your child is in:
Tuesday: Maple and Hazel
Thursday: Willow, Elm and Pine
Everyone will be allocated a 10-minute appointment, based in the school hall. You will have the opportunity to look at your child’s work either side of this appointment.
You should have received a paper copy of a letter with more information, including a slip for you to complete with your preferred timings for the appointment. You will receive a slip back to confirm your appointment day and time by Wednesday 19th March 2025.
