NewsletterSpring Term - 26th April 2024

~ April 2024 ~

We have added lots of important dates to our diary. For some of them, more information will be sent separately.

Please click here for a copy of the dates which can be downloaded.

Our summer Family Dining will take place after half-term. Due to the popularity of the sessions, we have decided to split them over two days.

Year 1 will be on Tuesday 25th June.

Reception and Year 2 will be on Tuesday 2nd July.

In response to parent feedback, we have changed the day from a Friday. Next year, we will ensure each of the 3 Family Dining sessions take place on a different day of the week, to ensure as many families as possible have the opportunity to join in.

If you have children in different year groups, and are only able to make one day, please let us know when you book your place and we will ensure you are able to sit with both children at the same time.

For the cost of an adult meal, Aspens, our catering company, charge £3. Places are limited to 1 adult per child.

We will send more information nearer the time but wanted to give plenty of notice of the dates.

Once again, you have amazed us all with a fantastic fundraising effort (£1601.59 in total), as part of the sponsored read in March. Mrs Pilborough has been busy purchasing some new resources with the money. So far, we have purchased a Toniebox (and headphones) for each classroom and one for our Robert Miles Club, along with a selection of Tonie characters. A Toniebox is an audio system that enables children to listen to stories, non-fiction texts, podcasts and songs as well as have the option to record and play your own content. If you would like to know more about the Toniebox, please use the following link: https://tonies.com/en-gb/

The summer term is always our busiest term for trips and visits. Here is a reminder of the upcoming trips for each year group:

Thursday 2nd May - Year 1 trip to The Space Centre.

Wednesday 22nd May - Reception trip to White Post Farm.

Friday 12th July - Year 2 Camp (1 night residential at Perlethorpe).

Please return all relevant forms, along with payment to cover the cost of the trip and transportation. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please speak to a member of staff, in confidence.

If you have an outstanding balance on your Schools Buddy account for Breakfast and After School Club, please could you ensure payments have been made by Friday 10th May

If you have any questions please contact the school office: office@rmischool.co.uk

As some of you may have noticed, Mrs Dodd has some exciting news to share. She is thrilled to be expecting her second child at some point in the Autumn Term. As a result, Mrs Dodd will spend some of the next academic year on maternity leave. She will continue to teach Beech class, alongside Mrs Farnsworth, for the remainder of this school year. On behalf of everyone at Robert Miles Infant School, I would like to offer our sincere congratulations to Mrs Dodd and her family.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Best wishes

Kelly Ryan
