On Wednesday 12th February, all classes took part in a free drama workshop, facilitated by the local drama group 'Perform'.
You can find out more information, including times and dates for classes in Bingham here.
Next week, we won't just be celebrating World Book Day, we'll be celebrating for the whole week! The texts we are focusing on all have animals in and therefore, on World Book Day itself (Thursday 6th March), we are inviting children to dress up as an animal.
Please do not feel the need to buy anything new – a headband or coloured t-shirt will be absolutely fine!
Please feel welcome to speak to a member of staff for easy ideas if you are stuck.
If anyone has any large pebbles (big enough for painting), we would love to collect them to use as part of a project to help develop some of our outdoor spaces.
In preparation for our summer fair, we would also like to start collecting clean jars (e.g. empty jam jars / pasta sauce jars).
If you are able to help with either of these, please send them in with the children or directly to the office.
Thank you

On the last Friday of half-term, school was closed for an INSET day. On that day, staff training focused on improving engagement within lessons.
At Robert Miles Infant School, we are committed to creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment where all children actively participate in their lessons. Research shows that pupils learn best when they are involved, curious, and encouraged to think critically. That’s why we are focusing on engagement in lessons and active learning as a key priority.
Active learning goes beyond traditional teaching methods. It involves hands-on activities, discussions, problem-solving and collaborative work that helps children to develop essential skills such as critical thinking, creativity and teamwork. Our staff are using a variety of strategies to make lessons more interactive and relevant, ensuring that children are not just passive listeners but active participants in their learning.
Parents’ Evening will take place on Tuesday 25th March and Thursday 27th March, depending on which class your child is in:
Tuesday: Maple and Hazel
Thursday: Willow, Elm and Pine
Everyone will be allocated a 10-minute appointment, based in the school hall. You will have the opportunity to look at your child’s work either side of this appointment.
We will soon send out a paper letter, with a reply slip for you to return with the available times you can do. If you are not able to make the date allocated for your child's class, please speak to your child's class teacher to arrange another time.
Thank you
