Please note the change of venue for the carol service on Wednesday 11th December due to building work at St Mary's church. This will now be 'Carols in the Playground' at 2.30pm.
Due to our Year 2 Family Dining session on Wednesday 27th November at 12.30pm, there have been some changes to the advertised menu for next week.
Wednesday 27th November - Lasagne or Vegetable Pizza
Thursday 28th November - Roast Gammon, Roast Potatoes and Gravy or Quorn Sausage, Roast Potatoes and Gravy
As always, there will be the option of pasta or a jacket potato or to bring a packed lunch from home.
Thank you
The last week of term promises to be very exciting, with lots of Christmas themed activities coming up, including parties, library visits, Christmas lunch, Christmas jumper day, carols in the playground and a surprise visit from a very special person (please do not tell the children about this – we are hoping to keep it as a surprise for them).
To help cover the cost of the food at the parties (this will only be a small amount as the children will already have had lunch) and a gift from our special visitor, we are kindly asking for a £1 donation per child, which can be given to your child’s teacher or to the school office. We will also be setting up an option to pay via our new online payment system, My Child at School (MCAS). You should have been sent an email to set up a new account, so please contact the school office if you have not received one.
Today, your child should bring home a letter with lots of information about all the activities. A copy of this letter will also be shared on Tapestry so that you can refer back to it.
Due to both Year 1 and 2 performing together this year, we have unfortunately had to limit how many people can attend due to space. For children in Year 1 and 2, we have included a reply slip to request up to two tickets per family for the Christmas performance. This can either be two tickets for the same day, or one for each day.
On Wednesday 4th December 2024, we will be visited by Nottinghamshire's School Immunisation team, to give the flu vaccination to all pupils with a valid consent form. To try and increase the uptake, the link has been reopened until midnight on 1st December. The team will also drop paper consents into school, which you can access from the office, if you prefer.
Consent forms have been distributed via email. Please contact the school office if you have not received one.
The free flu vaccination is eligible to children from Reception (FS2) up to and including Year 11. It is usually given as a quick and painless nasal spray in each nostril.
We are moving towards a cashless office and have set up a new online payment system through My Child at School (MCAS). Please look out for an email from MCAS with a link to set up an account. Once this has been set up you will be able to make payments via the app for trips, products, wrap around care etc. If you have any problems with this, please contact the office on office@rmischool.co.uk

On Friday 6th December, from 2.30pm, parents / grandparents and carers are invited into school to take part in some craft activities and independent learning sessions (in Reception, we call this our VIP time – Very Important Play).
Due to space limitations, please can we ask that only one person attends for each child? If you have children in different classes, you will be able to spend some time in each class.
Please do not worry if you are not able to make it – the staff will ensure they play and do crafts with any children who do not have an adult there.
On Friday 29th November, at 5.45pm, our choir will be performing on stage at Bingham Market Square, as part of the Christmas fair and lights switch on. It would be lovely to see our families supporting this. For those children in the choir, Mrs Attwood has sent out a separate letter and information via Tapestry.
Have you checked if your child is entitled to additional funding? This money comes into school and makes a big difference to what we can offer. Please click on the link to see if you are eligible.

It should only take a few minutes. If you are successful, you will be able to claim ten free sessions at our before / after-school provision (Robert Miles Club) and a free book bag!
Please contact the school office if you would like some support to complete the form.
