Head of School message - Covid update

The Prime Minister has announced new temporary measures following the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the UK.

Face coverings

Our school will be responding to the guidance as we receive it. From Monday all staff will be wearing masks when in communal areas. Only pupils in Year 7 and above will be required to wear masks when in school.

Staff will continue to test twice weekly using lateral flow device (LFD) tests.

Unfortunately, we will have to temporarily suspend all inside gatherings such as assemblies and performances. I am so sad to not be able to hold our get together Tuesday morning and I am sure you are all thinking about our Christmas performances. I am hoping to have more information from the Department of Education tomorrow so I will update everyone as soon as I can. Our carols in the playground should be able to go ahead because we are outside but again I will update people as soon as I hear anything.

Contact tracing and isolation

The current guidance on contact tracing and isolation remains in place. In addition to these, any suspected or confirmed close contacts of the Omicron variant will be asked to isolate for 10 days regardless of vaccination status or age. You will be contacted directly and told to isolate.
